A career as a Senior Data Steward in the Data Governance team at National Bank means playing a key role in managing and transforming data within your sector. Working closely with the Data Owner, the Data Governance team, and key stakeholders across the ecosystem, you implement data governance best practices, particularly data quality and data lineage, to support strategic decision-making, manage risks, and generate tangible impact on the Bank’s business objectives.

Your job

  • Identify and document your sector’s data (criticality, sensitivity, definitions) in the Bank’s data catalogue to facilitate usage and understanding.

  • Drive data quality improvement by identifying anomalies, assessing impacts, and escalating risks and issues to ensure integrity, compliance, and reliability.

  • Ensure end-to-end data traceability (lineage, flows, transformation points) and contribute to the modeling required for data exposure and consumption.

  • Collaborate with Data Stewards from other sectors to resolve cross-sector issues, facilitate data sharing, and harmonize governance practices.

  • Analyze the needs of data consumers to support initiative prioritization and delivery, using concrete and measurable criteria.

  • Act as a liaison between business and technical teams to clarify data requirements, secure decisions, and reduce operational risks.

Your team

Within the Data Governance sector, you are part of a team that works closely with Data Owners and key stakeholders across the data ecosystem. You report to the Data Owner of your sector, with a matrix relationship to the Analytics leadership within the Data Governance team. Our team stands out for its rigor, pragmatism, and strong focus on business impact. We aim to offer maximum flexibility to support your quality of life, including a hybrid work environment and a flexible, adaptable schedule.

National Bank values continuous development and internal mobility. Our personalized training programs, based on learning through action, help you master your role and develop new areas of expertise. You will have ongoing access to tools such as the Data Academy, language training, the Harvard Learning Center, as well as coaching and mentoring.

  • Knowledge of data governance practices and/or risk controls (cataloguing, quality management, data lineage, compliance).
