Building a career as a Senior Director – Business Transfer at National Bank means quickly becoming the go-to resource to support clients in their transition projects.

Reporting to the Regional Vice President, this role is based in Toronto.

Your Role:

  • Identify and develop business opportunities in your market.
  • Establish business development strategies.
  • Support entrepreneurs in the transition of their business (to family, management, or external interests).
  • Propose financial strategies tailored to merger and acquisition contexts.
  • Advise team members on deal structure and due diligence.
  • Adapt and optimize financial products based on evolving client needs.
  • Develop sales and business development plans.
  • Collaborate with the transfer team to achieve objectives.
  • Identify risks inherent to the Personal and Business sector activities.

Your Team:

Within the Commercial and Private Banking 1859 sector, you’ll join a team of professionals supporting business clients. You’ll also be surrounded by a network of specialists who help you offer the most suitable solutions for client needs.

Our training programs are based on on-the-job learning to help you master your role. You’ll have access to personalized training content on topics such as banking solutions and consultative approaches to support your continuous learning. You’ll also benefit from colleagues with a wide range of expertise, experience, and backgrounds to enrich all aspects of your development.

Prerequisites:

  • Depending on your academic background, you must have between 5 and 8 years of experience in business development and sales in the financial sector:
  • University certificate + 8 years of experience
  • Bachelor’s degree + 7 years of experience
  • Master’s degree + 5 years of experience
  • Experience in sales, financial statement analysis, commercial credit, mergers and acquisitions.
  • Established network of contacts among local businesses.
  • Experience in business valuation (an asset).
  • CPA or CICBV designation (an asset).
