As a Credit Analyst in the Equipment Financing team at National Bank, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional customer service through your expertise in credit analysis, risk management, and loan structuring. This position is part of the Small Ticket Credit team and is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, demonstrates strong analytical skills, and can make sound credit decisions in a timely manner.

Your Role:

  • Analyze credit applications by leveraging internal systems, external credit agencies, and financial statements to determine creditworthiness.
  • Work collaboratively with Account Managers to facilitate speed, accuracy, and effective credit underwriting.
  • Approve credit applications within delegated limits or compile recommendations for Credit Management, including approval recommendations, structure changes, and/or deferrals.
  • Ensure compliance with first-line risk management functions, including loan management, data integrity, portfolio quality, loan security, and approval requirements.
  • Investigate and promptly escalate suspicious transactions or credit deterioration to Credit Management to minimize operational losses.
  • Facilitate timely, prudent, and high-quality lending decisions that align with National Bank’s risk appetite.

Within the Equipment Finance team, you’ll join a collaborative group of Small Ticket credit professionals and report directly to the Manager, Credit. Prerequisites:

  • A diploma or bachelor’s degree in finance, commerce, or related field is preferred.
  • 2–5 years of experience in financial services, risk management, or commercial lending.
  • Ability to understand and interpret credit bureau reports, knowledge of collateral requirements and financial statement analysis.
  • An equivalent combination of relevant experience and education will be considered.
  • Proficiency in both official languages (English and French) is considered an asset.
