A career as a legal advisor in the Legal Affairs, Treasury team at National Bank means playing a key role in ensuring compliance with laws and regulations governing our financing activities. This role allows you to have a positive impact on the organization through your expertise in securities law and capital markets.

Your role

  • Advise the corporate treasury and other internal stakeholders on securities law matters.
  • Participate in equity, debt, and secured bond issuances, as well as securitization operations, term funding, and institutional deposit activities for the Bank.
  • Ensure the compliance of financing programs and monitor regulatory and market developments.
  • Identify and manage risks related to financing practices in public and private markets.
  • Collaborate with external law firms to support the Bank’s activities.
  • Provide strategic recommendations with financial and organizational impact.

Your team

Within the Legal Affairs, Treasury team, you will report to the Senior Director and work closely with committed and dynamic colleagues. The Bank values continuous development and internal mobility.

Basic requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in law and membership with the Quebec, Ontario, or New York Bar, with 3 to 7 years of experience.
  • Experience in securities law and capital markets.
  • Strong interest in finance and economics.
  • Ability to manage multiple files simultaneously with rigor and attention to detail.
  • Team spirit and interpersonal skills.
  • Practical sense, pragmatism, and sound business judgment.
Languages:
English, French
