As a fiduciary services expert at National Bank Trust, you contribute to a vital mission: delivering high-level fiduciary services and specialized legal advice to a wealthy clientele.

Joining the Fiduciary Services team means putting your expertise in trust administration and protection mandates to work on complex cases. You will play a key advisory role by providing informed recommendations and actively participating in client meetings to address their challenges. Your analytical skills, ability to communicate clearly, and talent for simplifying complex concepts will ensure an exceptional client experience.

Your Role

  • Coordinate various legal activities related to cases to ensure proactive management and compliance with deadlines
  • Handle case closures and ensure quality
  • Be accountable for processing cases under your responsibility and regularly communicate progress to internal partners, clients, and their experts
  • Act as administrator for companies managed in estate, trust, and protection mandate cases, and collaborate with external experts to prepare financial statements, resolutions, and corporate documents
  • Conduct legal research and monitor regulations regarding estates, trusts, and mandates
  • Analyze wills and other legal documents at the opening or during administration and provide recommendations
  • Help establish and maintain privileged relationships with clients

Within the Estates and Trusts sector, you’ll be part of a close-knit team of four colleagues and report to the Director of Fiduciary Services. Our team is known for its expertise and human approach. We aim to offer maximum flexibility to support your quality of life, including a hybrid work environment and a flexible, adaptable schedule.

Occasional travel within the Greater Montreal area is required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of experience OR Master’s degree and 4 years of experience
  • Member of the Chambre des notaires du Québec or the Barreau du Québec
  • Experience in trust administration and protection mandates
  • Experience in an advisory expert role
  • Knowledge of investments or financial planning (an asset)
Languages:
English, French
Reason to require this language: you will need to serve clients who speak a language other than French regularly.
