A career as a Senior Legal Advisor within the Personal Financing Operations sector, which is part of the Legal Expertise Team at National Bank means acting as a legal specialist. Through your legal skills, experience in real estate law, personal law, analytical and communication abilities, and your relational and writing skills, you will have a positive impact on the client, employee, and partner experience. We are looking for a notary recognized for their efficiency, proactivity, and leadership.

Your Role

  • Act as an advisor in the analysis of files submitted by real estate law jurists (easements, partial releases, consent to cadastral modification, declaration of divided co-ownership, and undivided co-ownership agreements)
  • Provide opinions on the securities held by the Bank
  • Offer expertise in committees and special or large-scale projects impacting the evolution of practices and policies
  • Train and support all teams in the Personal Financing Operations sector as well as partners on legal issues related to real estate and securities, estates, and personal law
  • Communicate with the jurists mandated by the Bank to analyze files and advise the Bank on securing guarantees
  • Analyze title reports from jurists and take a position

Your Team

Within the Personal Financing Operations sector, you are part of the Legal Expertise team, composed of 13 colleagues, and you report to the Director of Legal Expertise. Our team stands out for its expertise in real estate law, securities, and personal law, its delivery of client experience, and collaboration.

We prioritize a variety of continuous learning methods to enrich your development, including learning through action, training content made available to you, and working in collaboration with colleagues of diverse expertise and profiles.

Prerequisites 

  • Bachelor's degree in law and a Master's degree in notarial law with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
  • Member of the Chambre des notaires du Québec
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word required)
  • Knowledge of the banking environment (an asset)

English, French
