A career as a Chief Functional Analyst in the Transactional Assets Banking - Backend team at National Bank means exercising your IT expertise in a dynamic and evolving environment. Your job

  • Understand business issues, identify and analyze the needs of customers and business partners
  • Document requests and prepare recommendations to design or adapt systems that meet needs and facilitate decision-making
  • Perform a variety of complex analyses, identify gaps, and make recommendations to optimize system efficiency and resolve important issues
  • Analyze requests for changes in systems, assess impacts on existing applications, suggest and make appropriate changes
  • Establish validation and quality control procedures, based on established norms and development standards, and perform comprehensive testing to ensure that the systems developed or modified are adequate
  • Provide support to respond to user requests or issues affecting existing applications.
  • Produce Target Business Solutions and functional analyses
  • Participate in testing (test plan and sets, test execution and verification) and resolution of customer and application support queries
  • As required, supervise other resources in the context of the implementation of projects or evolving requests.

The IT team is made up of more than 2,300 proactive, collaborative experts who work with agility to seize opportunities, stay on the cutting edge of technology, and continuously improve our processes.

Within the Banking Transactional Assets - Backend sector, you will be part of a large team of 23 colleagues composed of analysts, programmers and testers and you will report to the Chief Director. Our team stands out for its extensive experience in mainframes and its great spirit of collaboration. We are in the process of modernizing our tools (code editor, version manager, copilot) and our ways of doing things.

Prerequisites

  • Bachelor's degree or other industry-related degree and five years of relevant experience
  • Knowledge of the Plant (IBM 390 Mainframe) desirable
  • Experience in banking and/or finance desirable
  • Knowledge of Agile methodology and DevOps
  • Knowledge of JIRA/Tempo/Confluence
  • Excellent analytical and synthesis skills
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to manage priorities and time effectively.

Reason to require this language: you will need to work closely with our colleagues outside Quebec.
