A career as a data engineering developer on the data team at National Bank means serving as a data solutions design and development specialist. This position allows you to have a positive impact on our organisation thanks to your expertise in programming, data structuring and solving complex business problems.

Your job

  • Design and develop end-to-end data solutions (acquisition, transformation, structuring and exposure)
  • Explore, structure and enhance various data, including unstructured data, based on business needs
  • Translate business problems into adapted data models, even when needs are not fully defined
  • Develop scripts, automations and tools to improve the efficiency of analytical processes
  • Collaborate with analysts, data scientists and business partners to deliver concrete, usable solutions
  • Apply basic software engineering practises (modularity, legibility, versioning) while using modern tools including assisted artificial intelligence

Your team

You will be part of the Non-Financial risk Analytics and stress testing team in the Senior Vice-President – Credit Analytics and Integrated risk Management, where we develop data and artificial intelligence solutions to support risk management and decision-making. It's a team of specialists who work agile, proactively and collaboratively to seize opportunities, stay on the cutting edge of technology and continuously improve processes.

Prerequisites

  • Have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field and 3 to 5 years of experience
  • Have relevant experience in programming or developing data solutions (including academic or personal projects)
  • Master the basics of programming, including Python and SQL
  • Demonstrate the ability to structure and break down problems before they are implemented
  • Have an interest in complex and non-traditional data models
Languages:
English, French
Reason to require this language: you will need to work closely with our colleagues outside Quebec.
