A career as a data engineering developer on the data team at National Bank means serving as a data solutions design and development specialist. This position allows you to have a positive impact on our organisation thanks to your expertise in programming, data structuring and solving complex business problems.

Your job

Design and develop end-to-end data solutions (acquisition, transformation, structuring and exposure)
Explore, structure and enhance various data, including unstructured data, based on business needs
Translate business problems into adapted data models, even when needs are not fully defined
Develop scripts, automations and tools to improve the efficiency of analytical processes
Collaborate with analysts, data scientists and business partners to deliver concrete, usable solutions
Apply basic software engineering practises (modularity, legibility, versioning) while using modern tools including assisted artificial intelligence

Your team

You will be part of the Non-Financial risk Analytics and stress testing team in the Senior Vice-President – Credit Analytics and Integrated risk Management, where we develop data and artificial intelligence solutions to support risk management and decision-making. It's a team of specialists who work agile, proactively and collaboratively to seize opportunities, stay on the cutting edge of technology and continuously improve processes.

Prerequisites

Have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field and 3 to 5 years of experience
Have relevant experience in programming or developing data solutions (including academic or personal projects)
Master the basics of programming, including Python and SQL
Demonstrate the ability to structure and break down problems before they are implemented
Have an interest in complex and non-traditional data models

Languages:

English, French

Reason to require this language: you will need to work closely with our colleagues outside Quebec.
