 A career as a Chief Data Engineering Developer on the Data Solutions team at National Bank Independent Network (NBIN) means being an expert in building and maintaining our data warehouse and data pipelines.  In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining ETL processes, reporting, and data models to support data-driven initiatives from business stakeholders and to have a positive impact on the organization.

Your job

  • Design, develop, and maintain robust data pipelines that extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources and store in our data warehouse
  • Build and optimize data models to efficiently store data and retrieve large datasets for analytics and reporting
  • Monitor and maintain data workflows to ensure performance and reliability
  • Collaborate with data analysts, data governance, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver solutions
  • Monitor daily jobs to ensure all processes are completed successfully in a timely manner
  • Document data processes and workflows for future reference and compliance
  • Work closely with team members to resolve issues and make continual improvements
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices in data engineering

Your team

You will be part of the Data Engineering team within Data Solutions at NBIN, and you will report to the Manager of Data Engineering.  Our team stands out as being experts in building data and reporting solutions, along with providing support for all business functions to drive efficiencies and effective decision making at NBIN.

This position requires a rotation of one week out of every four to ensure continuous coverage and high-quality service.

Prerequisites

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years experience in data engineering or a similar position
  • Minimum 5 years experience in SQL and relational databases (e.g. SQL Server, Postgres)
  • Minimum 5 years experience developing ETL solutions using SSIS
  • Minimum 5 years experience programming in C# or Python
  • Experience using code repositories (e.g. Git, Bitbucket, TFS)
  • Experience in data warehousing concepts and solutions
  • Experience in optimizing data pipelines and SQL queries
  • Experience working with cloud technologies such as Azure
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
