A career as a Senior Advisor – Tax Compliance in the CRS/FATCA/QI/QDD Tax expertise Centre team at National Bank compliance with the qualified intermediary (QI) agreement and the qualified derivatives Dealer (QDD) rules with which the Bank and its subsidiaries must comply. This position allows you to leverage your expertise in taxation and regulatory compliance, as well as your knowledge of financial markets. You play an important role with the business lines in compliance practises, as well as in the client and employee experience.

Your job
  • Support, advise and participate in the activities of the U.S. Tax Operations team as part of projects, internal initiatives or process reviews related to QI and QDD regulations
  • Support the SM in his governance activities and in managing the risks of QI/QDD program activities
  • Reduce the risk of non-compliance by supporting and advising business units on projects and process reviews, while offering the support needed to handle complex cases on a daily basis
  • Act as a resource person for developing, updating and improving work tools, procedures and training
  • Actively contribute to working groups by guiding discussions and participating in program-related initiatives
Your team

In the Investment Funds Administration and Tax activities sector at Operations investments, you are part of a team of 3 employees committed to implementing QI/QDD rules and you will report to the Senior Manager – Tax expertise Centre – QI/QDD Programs. Your role is to oversee program governance and develop processes in a context where rules are constantly evolving.

Prerequisites
  • A completed bachelor's degree in a related field and 6 years of relevant experience or a completed master's degree in a related field and 4 years of relevant experience
  • Experience in compliance, audit or legal
  • Experience in the securities industry
  • Knowledge of products and financial markets
  • Knowledge of QI and QDD rules
  • Very good analytical skills
  • Thinking in process mode and working in solution mode
  • A strong sense of autonomy and organisation
  • strong team spirit, easy to collaborate effectively
Languages:
English, French
Reason to require this language: you will need to work closely with our colleagues outside Quebec.
