As a Senior Accounting Analyst, you will support the Accounting – Subsidiaries team (Wealth Management, securitization and insurance) in producing financial information, monitoring month-end results, preparing management, statutory, and regulatory reporting, and documenting accounting processes.

Your role

• Review select deliverables prepared by team members and confirm appropriate accounting and regulatory treatment

• Provide support for financial analyses related to subsidiary activities

• Contribute to the month-end close and the preparation of financial statements

• Monitor balance sheet presentation and statutory/regulatory results, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and accounting policies

• Ensure accounting treatments are aligned with applicable service agreements

• Identify continuous improvement opportunities and support the evolution of procedures and practices

• Serve as a key contact for external auditors and finance partners

• Provide support for ad hoc requests related to subsidiary accounting within the team’s scope

Your Team

Within the Subsidiaries Accounting sector, you are part of a large team of 12 colleagues and report to the Senior Director. Our team handles a variety of files (insurance activities, deposit-taking institutions, custody of securities, corporate trusts, securitization, etc.) with the goal of ensuring the integrity of the financial data under our responsibility, while playing an advisory and support role for our partners.

Prerequisites

• CPA designation

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 3 to 5 years of relevant accounting experience

• Strong proficiency in Excel, Power Query, and AI-enabled productivity tools

• Strong analytical skills with a process-oriented mindset

• Experience in preparing and/or auditing financial statements

• Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines

• Strong synthesis skills and attention to detail

Languages:
English, French
Reason to require this language: you will need to work closely with our colleagues outside Quebec.
