A career as an advisor in the Pensions, Wellness and Benefits team at National Bank means acting as a specialist in NBC pension plans for members, retirees and numerous internal and external stakeholders. It is through your analytical and communication skills, your experience in managing complex cases and continuous improvement, and your knowledge of retirement savings, financial literacy and EE processes that you have a positive impact on the employee experience.  

Your role

Analyze demographic and behavioral statistics and trends

  • Rethink the approach of talking about retirement in order to better promote employee understanding and appreciation of pension plans, encourage good retirement savings habits, and support employee financial well-being
  • Maintain plan documentation (MyHR, brochures, forms, guides)
  • Monitor processes, report and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders (payroll, Employee Zone, accounting, IT, employee relations, National Bank Trust, National Bank Investments, call centre, Telus Health)
  • Contribute to the various administrative activities related to the Bank's pension plans: monitoring enrolments, validating and approving the benefits payments, monitoring leaves of absence, validating interfaces, producing statements, analyzing reports, etc.
  • Ensure the handling and resolution of special cases in collaboration with managers, the call centre, legal affairs or the ombudsman's office
  • Drive continuous improvement and process efficiency
Your team

Within the Total Rewards sector under the Wellness and Benefits team, you will be part of a team of six colleagues and report to the Senior Director, Pensions. Our team is responsible for the administration and governance of National Bank's pension plans, with over 20,000 active members, 12,000 retirees and former members and a pension fund of more than $5 billion. Our team stands out for its expertise, rigor, collaboration and desire to improve the financial well-being of employees.

Basic requirements

  • 3-year college diploma (DEC) and 6 to 7 years of experience OR a Bachelor's degree and 3 to 4 years of experience or any other combination of education and experience considered equivalent 
  • Curiosity, rigor and attention to detail
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ease of communication, popularization
  • Strong team player, interpersonal and collaborative skills
  • Interest in financial well-being and financial literacy
  • Proficiency in Excel, an asset
