A career as a Senior Legal Advisor in the Personal & Commercial Compliance – Business Conduct team at National Bank means actively contributing to sound risk management and the evolution of regulatory compliance frameworks, particularly in consumer protection and anti-money laundering. This role allows you to act as a key point of contact for Personal & Commercial sectors, supporting all regulatory matters impacting these activities.

Your role
  • Act as a subject matter expert in interpreting and applying regulatory requirements with business partners and compliance teams
  • Support and influence business sectors to ensure activities comply with applicable laws and regulations
  • Conduct complex analyses and recommend solutions aligned with regulatory and operational challenges
  • Monitor and oversee regulatory risks, including those related to business partners
  • Develop recommendations and implement measures to mitigate risks and optimize regulatory processes
  • Identify and prevent potential non-compliance issues while contributing to the evolution of supervision frameworks
Your team
Within the Compliance sector, you are part of a team of approximately 10 colleagues and report to the Senior Director, Financing and Third-Party Governance Framework. Our team stands out for its strong collaboration with business partners and its ability to adapt to evolving regulatory environments. Prerequisites
  • Member of the Barreau du Quebec or Chambre des notaires with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience
  • Experience in regulatory compliance or risk management
  • Knowledge of Personal & Commercial sector activities and their operational and transactional processes
  • Strong knowledge of banking regulations (Bank Act, Consumer Protection Framework, AML regulations)
  • Experience analyzing and managing complex cases in a regulated environment
Languages:
English, French
Reason to require this language: you will need to work closely with our colleagues outside Quebec.
