Being a Team Lead in Commercial Banking for the Agriculture Group at National Bank means coaching and supporting a team of Commercial Account Managers while managing a senior portfolio of commercial clients. You play a key role in promoting the Bank’s solutions through various distribution channels and in driving sustainable business growth in your market.
Your leadership, field presence, business development expertise, and collaborative approach will allow your team and your portfolio to perform at their best.


This position reports to the Associate Vice-President, Commercial Banking – Agriculture, and is based in London, Ontario.

Your role

  • Lead, coach and mobilize a team of Account Managers by creating an engaging work environment focused on achieving business objectives
  • Support employees’ development through personalized coaching and performance follow-up
  • Optimize sector efficiency, productivity and profitability by implementing effective growth strategies
  • Develop and execute, in collaboration with internal partners, a market strategy to maximize impact and visibility
  • Contribute to the development of the annual business plan for your market and ensure its execution
  • Build and maintain strong, lasting client relationships through acquisition and retention initiatives
  • Act as an ambassador of the Bank within the local community and develop relationships with key partners
  • Maintain an appropriate balance between risk management and profitability in business development activities
  • Monitor market developments and ensure that solutions offered remain competitive and aligned with clients’ evolving needs
  • Identify opportunities to improve ways of working and promote the adoption of new tools and best practices
  • Support the Regional Vice-President in business planning and day-to-day team management activities

Prerequisites

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field with at least 7 years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree with at least 5 years of relevant experience
  • Experience managing and coaching employees
  • Strong expertise in commercial credit and business development
  • Good knowledge of banking systems
  • Strong influencing skills, leadership abilities and capacity to manage multiple priorities
  • High level of autonomy, strong organizational skills and ability to support change
