Position Overview:

The successful candidate will join the Equity Capital Markets Group, handling a range of complex administrative tasks, syndication execution, and syndicate accounting activities. This individual will  also contribute to operational projects and support both front-office and back-office functions as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • ECM Private Placement Execution
  • Oversee processing and auditing of subscription agreements
  • Manage compliance procedures and approvals
  • Coordinate syndicate dealer activities and documentation deadlines
  • Manage closing procedures
  • Database Oversight
  • Audit and maintain ECM databases
  • Syndicate Accounting Support
  • Calculate and book new issue revenues (Bookrunner/Non-Bookrunner) and record M&A revenues.
  • Estimate daily liabilities and prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly revenue reports, including mark-to-market and grossed-up reporting.
  • Manage FX trades, month-end conversions, and reconcile ATM/block trades, inventory, and payments (A/R); oversee commission distributions (A/P).
  • Distribute commissions, process adjustments, submit expenses, and manage activity codes, write-offs, and monthly netting.
  • Maintain new issue buyer lists for settlement and monthly CRM uploads.
  • Prepare semi-annual audit reports and ensure compliance with reporting standards.
  • Reconcile and report all transactions, including commissions and inventory, ensuring accuracy across systems.
  • Operational and Compliance Activities
  • Assist with ECM settlement and compliance reporting
  • Support operational projects, including:
      • Streamlining and enhancing deal reporting (NEDD database)
      • Automating liability, revenue, and profitability reporting

Requirements

The ideal candidate should demonstrate:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • 2–3 years of relevant experience
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Capacity to work in time-sensitive and sometimes stressful environments
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Canadian Securities Course & Conduct and Practices Course (considered an asset)
