Being a Real Estate Account Manager in our Calgary Commercial Real Estate team at National Bank means being responsible for supporting the Director & Team Lead in developing new business opportunities by focusing on the best players in the real estate sector both in their interim construction financing projects and in long-term financing of quality assets and ensuring clients day-to-day banking needs are met at the highest level. This job allows you to have a positive impact on our organization.

Your role:

  • Structure credit and cash management arrangements, perform comprehensive financial/non-financial due diligence and risk assessment of credit proposals.
  • Negotiate the terms and conditions with both clients and internal NBC stakeholders working in collaboration with your Team Lead
  • Working with your Team Lead to develop new client relationships by leveraging referral sources, existing clients, and centers of influence.
  • Support your Team Lead’s portfolio by helping clients attain their business objectives by proposing financial strategies baed on the most suitable combination of Bank products and services as well as management, development and maintenance of the existing portfolio.
  • Collaborate with the Western Canada team mainly, as well as our teams in Montreal and Toronto, in order to reach our objectives of increased revenues and continuous improvement.
  • Meet clients' changing needs by adapting and optimizing financial products and sales approaches.
  • Work with the Team Lead and other partners internally to support the achievement of overall objectives of the Real Estate Group.

Within the Commercial & Private Banking 1859 sector, you are part of a large team of 100+ colleagues based across Canada. The role is based in Calgary, and you report to the Regional Vice-President Real Estate Financing working in collaboration with the Director & Team Lead.

Basic requirements :

  • Bachelor's degree and/or Master’s degree in a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of real estate financing experience or direct experience within Commercial and or Corporate Banking.
  • Demonstration of business development skills, understanding financial statements, accounting principles and managing the credit quality of a portfolio with complex financing requirements is also necessary.
  • Knowledge of banking products and services for real estate businesses.
  • Strong interpersonal and writing skills.
