A career as a Senior Financial statement Advisor in the Fund Accounting sector at Operations at National Bank means contributing to the achievement of various deliverables by working in synergy with your team.

Your knowledge of accounting and auditing, your experience with mutual funds and exchange-traded funds, and your desire to make a difference through your diligence and partnership will have a positive impact on the client experience in a complex sector of activity.

National Bank's Fund Accounting sector is responsible for calculating unit prices for investment funds, calculating distributions, and producing their financial statements and tax returns.

Your job
  • Act as an expert in applying accounting and regulatory standards that define our activities, including IFRS
  • Verify the accuracy of the data presented and the content of notes to the financial statements based on the investment strategy (interim and annual)
  • Participate in the annual audit process for mutual funds and exchange-traded funds
  • Analyze the impact of changes or new products on the team's operations and the production of financial statements
  • Identify and analyse the needs of current and potential partners/clients in order to meet their needs make it easier for them to make decisions through our recommendations by being an active player in meetings
  • Maintain excellent relationships with internal and external partners (colleagues, clients, auditors, National Bank Trust) as part of joint activities
  • Provide specialised advice to all stakeholders
  • Contribute to the development of your colleagues by transferring knowledge and keeping documentation up-to-date
Your team

In the Funds Accounting sector in the Financial statements team, you are part of a team of 15 colleagues and report to the Financial statements Manager. With experts in finance, accounting and taxation, we analyse and interpret data to make the best decisions for our clients and partners.

Our team stands out for its expertise in mutual fund accounting, the quality of producing audited semi-annual and annual financial statements, the client/employee experience, the dynamic atmosphere and collaboration between colleagues and other teams in the sector.

We favour a variety of forms of continuous learning to enhance your development, including on-the-job learning, training content and working with colleagues with diverse backgrounds and expertise.

Prerequisites
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field and seven years of relevant experience
  • Accounting designation obtained (CPA)
  • Experience in analysing notes and auditing financial statements
  • Experience in mutual funds, exchange-traded funds and IFRS standards
  • Excellent communication skills good time and priority management
  • Interpersonal skills and good stakeholder management
  • Problem-solving critical mindset and disciplined
