This is an exciting time to join the Growth & Strategy team at National Bank and be part of a talented team of professionals, working together to achieve four main pillars: accelerating our revenue growth, adapting our strategy as needed to changing market conditions, managing the risk of our credit portfolio and ensuring our cost structures are efficient and optimized.  We are seeking a results-oriented individual that is looking to be part of a highly driven team which is strongly focused on growing the Commercial and Private Banking 1859 across Canada.

Working in a collaborative, team-based environment and reporting to the Senior Vice President, Chief Strategy & Growth Officer, this role will be focused on creating strategies, processes and executing the delivery of revenue growth across all ancillary product and service offerings.  Key to this role will be to unlock revenue synergies related to CWB and NBC clients with our new enhanced full service offering capabilities.  This role will also partner closely with Financial Markets and other key stakeholders to deliver the whole bank to our clients and markets across Canada.

This position could be based in Toronto or Montreal. 

 

Your job:

  • Develop and implement innovative strategies and business plans to foster the growth of ancillary revenues, in alignment with the sector and the Bank's overall objectives 
  • Utilize ancillary businesses as a growth and differentiation play for NBC and CWB, identifying and capitalizing on market opportunities. 
  • Be responsible for expanding our service offering for entrepreneurs beyond traditional banking services to meet the diverse needs of our clientele. 
  • Implement initiatives aimed at increasing ancillary revenues and improving return on equity. 
  • Work closely with all lines of business, including the teams of Alexandre Lemieux (Risk Management Solutions) and Élaine Barsalou (Mergers and Acquisition) in Financial Markets, Peter Thompson (Insurance), as well as with external partners.  
  • Develop and consolidate robust prospect lists across all ancillary products and services.
 
Your team:

You will report to Matthew Macdonald, Senior Vice-President, Chief Strategy & Growth Officer.

Basic requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree in a related field and 10 years of relevant experience, or a master’s degree in a related field and eight years of relevant experience
  • Inspiring leadership and proven ability to drive change
  • Strong ability to maintain relationships with internal and external Bank partners
  • Knowing the Bank’s products and services will be an asset.
  • Having relationships with key leaders and business lines will be an asset.
