A career as an Analyst or Associate in the Global Securities Finance (GSF) Delta-One team at National Bank of Canada (NBC) would involve assisting in the pricing, trading, hedging, and booking of equity Delta-One products. It would also involve developing related trading strategies, building the necessary infrastructure, implementing and managing those strategies. Candidates should have a keen interest in trading a diverse range of financial products and underpinnings of capital markets including operations, and financial theory. In this role you will learn about pricing, trading, management, and booking of Equity Delta One products.

Your Job

  • Assist with managing the execution, hedging, and general management of the Equity Swap, listed Option Strategies, and Futures business
  • Work independently and with other members of the team to develop trading strategies and the files and processes to manage those strategies
  • Co-ordinate and work with various internal teams on trade, client and counterparty development.
  • Responsible for managing and mitigating operational risks in the day-to-day operation
  • PnL reconciliation of the GSF D1 business with Accounting and Middle Office Support teams
  • Correspond with legal confirmation teams to ensure accuracy of the trade details in legal documentation with the agreed details with the counterparty
  • Co-ordinate and develop client relationships for the GSF D1 Business
  • Support achievement of the Bank's vision, values, goals and culture in personal behavior, actions and decision making

Your Team

You will be part of the overall Global Securities Finance team at NBC, reporting to the Managing Director of Global Securities Finance.

GSF is an integrated business model connecting Securities Finance, Repo and Delta-one products in one team. Working closely with Treasury of NBC, GSF looks to optimize the banks position with regards to use and availability of equity and fixed income collateral. To achieve it intended goals, GSF has members in Toronto, Montreal, New York, London, and Hong Kong.

This position is based in Toronto.

Basic Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance, accounting, mathematics, engineering, computer science or another complementary discipline
  • At least one year of relevant capital market or related work experience is an asset
  • CFA designation is an asset
  • Strong understand of financial theory related to pricing equity derivatives products is an asset
  • Strong proficiency in VBA, SQL and/or Python is a base requirement
  • Demonstrated problem-solving mindset, collaborative approach and great team spirit
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trusting relationships
  • Candidate must have a high degree of integrity
